A4A, U.S. Travel Association, American Hotel & Lodging Association on House Passage of Senate Funding Measure

WASHINGTON, September 1, 2026 — Following House passage of the Senate funding measure to keep the federal government open, leaders from the U.S. Travel Association, Airlines for America (A4A) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) issued the following statement:

“Today’s House vote is welcome progress, but travelers and the people who keep America moving have seen this movie before: another temporary fix, followed by more of the same uncertainty. Congress needs to deliver the annual appropriations bills and enact a lasting solution that ensures TSA officers and air traffic controllers are never again asked to work without pay due to a government shutdown. America’s travel system is too important to our economy—and to millions of travelers—to keep putting it at risk.”
